Cantina Habanero, the popular ex-pat hangout in Puerto Morelos, Mexico, celebrated its 11th anniversary this week. Many locals and tourists gathered on Wednesday to congratulate owner, Naty Hoffman, on another great year in the quaint beach town.
Many danced the night away to festive music and enjoyed drink/food specials offered through the evening. All celebrated the life of Ed Hoffman, Naty’s late husband, who opened Cantina Habanero in 2007 after moving to Mexico from the United States.
Cantina Habanero is located just north of the town square in Puerto Morelos, a small fishing village located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen in the Riviera Maya. Unlike those large commercialized cities, Puerto Morelos has kept its small-town charm throughout the years.
Cantina Habanero is a favorite among visitors to Puerto Morelos. Margarita Contests, Chicken Wing Competitions, Chili Cook-offs, and many other fun events are held throughout the year at this notorious watering hole. The 11th anniversary party kicks off another year of guaranteed fun for all.
On your next visit to Puerto Morelos, stop by and say hi to Roberto, the best waiter around town. Grab a margarita, some grub, and sit back and relax in the unforgettable little seaside village. It will be evident why Ed chose to put down roots in Puerto Morelos and why he opened his famed cantina in this south-of-the-border paradise!
